This website is under recovery. I’m trying to bring back to live the glamour and glory of what dancing was in East Anglia, UK. Through this website, dancer from East England had the chance to be kept updated about the schedules; as well as agendas of dance news, events and opportunities for children and young people. They would learn about dancing opportunities to participate in. Complementary studies available for them to take part in as well.
The information on the site also recognized dance practitioners and choreographers, professional dancers, school teachers, artistic directors and all those who made any step to take dancing to another level.
However, the domain was left to expire several years earlier locking our potential dancer; who would have made a difference in the entertainment industry. I felt that it was not in line with the original creator of the site. Therefore I’ve decided to recreate this website as it was originally.
I admit that I’m a step behind because I’m yet to get update of all the dancing that is going on in East England. But I still yearn to keep the site updated. That means that I will keep the site updated with all the info pertaining to music and dancing in the area. I’ve already published some articles about the same as can be accessed from the topics below. Click on them to have access. Will be updating more in future.

Why Dance is Beneficial
My prowess in dancing can be attributed to my hay days as a kid where I participated in various dancing competition. One notable moment was when I represented my school at the national inter-schools music festival where we not only did we win the trophy for the best performance but I bagged the glory of the day because of my incredible dancing style and energy; which made me win another award.
I started dancing as a kid during Sunday school events. I really loved it. As I progressed in life, my skills also became better both at school and at conventional events; which I attended locally. I did dance, not just because of the beauty of dancing. But the value that I benefited from dancing.
As much as it was entertaining to me, it was much of a captivation – a craving and source of inspiration that I yearned much to stick to. You can imagine how profound it would be to dance with a lover as you see how they experience the excitement and delight of the music that you are dancing to.
You Needn’t be a Good Dancer to get on the Floor
That love for dancing was what actually opened a rare opportunity for me to meet with other half; one whom I’ve been with, through thick and thin for the past four years. We met at a wedding ceremony of my cousin. The wedding was over and it was time for partying. You can guess that nothing get off the party well started than music; which is accessorized by dancing. And that is what I actually did.
Nevertheless, I needed to be with the music as soon as the party started and thus I wasted no time getting on the stage. Surprisingly, I never shied nor got nervous. I was used to such kind of parties. Yet again, I had to be there for my cousin. Therefore it never mattered to me; which song was playing as long as I was on the dance floor having some fun.
My cousin had been so much close to me and I felt that I needed to express my joy of him getting married. Dance, as I danced, my style appealed much to the happiness and joy of the day. However, my moves appealed to the happy emotions; which caught the attention of a couple of girls who were there watching me as I ‘did it all’. Of course I was oblivious of all their audience until one of them came to me for a dance.
Dance Helped me Make a Family
For the next 30 or so minutes we did some slow dancing as we exchanged glances and whispered some complement on each other. That was what culminated to our union. The half-an-hour that we danced together formed a bond that I believe will be there till death separates us. I personally enjoyed the time that we spent together. I got energized; felt appreciated and was also inspired by other couples on the stage.
Therefore, I agree that she wasn’t a good dancer. But the manner in which she courageously approached me and was ready to dance with me without any remorse or fear of embarrassments made me feel attracted to her. I could see that her personal disposition was improving which each move we made and thus made me love her more.
She must have also been enthralled with my moves because it was after that party that we met several times later with most of these she would be asking for a dance. The rest is about our successful dating and eventual marriage that I don’t want to get into detail in. Semper fi.
Inspiring Others through Dance
I’m Linda Michael, a choreographer and dance instructor. I’m also a part time fitness instructor owning a small fitness clubs which has 36 students currently. I love my work because I have been an inspiration to many people especially those who desperately would love to shed off some fat. But can’t get themselves to consistently exercise leave alone cutting down of their calories intake.
Nonetheless, I started out as a cheerleader during my hay days in high school. I loved every bit about cheer-leading and it is during these numerous cheer-leading activities that I decided that I should pursue dancing as a career. I realized that I had this ability to dance my all without wearing out easily. Therefore the best way to preserve my energies and to make use of them was to become a dancing instructor. Therefore after high school, I went to college where I studied a Diploma in Creative and Performing Arts. After college I spent some years as an actor in local theaters before deciding to go it alone and try my luck.
Living a Purposeful Life Teaching Dance
For the next three years, I spent my time offering my choreography and dancing expertise services to local dance groups. There are times when I would be hired to adjudicate dancing competitions and other times schools would hire me to train school dance teams. But as time went by, I realized that I wasn’t living my dreams. I realized that a was leading a non-purposeful life because for the past three years of doing this dancing shit, no one would come by and complement me for the work that I was doing.
Dance Sessions to Help Lose Weight
I felt that I wasn’t accomplishing anything; as if I wasn’t adding any value to the lives of other humans. That made me feel like quitting. However, I even thought of going back to college to study something else; which would be much fulfilling. Feeling quite empty, I decided that once I finish all the projects that were at hand, I wouldn’t be taking any new one, and therefore I would be taking a retirement from the whole dancing thing.
But something entirely happened before I called it quits. That evening, I had just finished some dancing sessions that I was teaching to a school dancing team, when the team’s chaperon came to see me in the company of a plump lady. I was used to that. But that day it was entirely different because of the agenda that they brought at the table. The lady who I estimated was in her mid 20s wanted to work with me in setting up a fitness center. She shared with me her idea of dancing to lose weight. She would be part of the initial class which would attest to this.
According to her
There are people who can’t keep up with the exercising schedules that were recommended due to their involvement. But some simple dancing lessons would help such individual. She also promised to help me get some of my first students.
The idea sounded workable. But promised to get in touch with her soon. I went and made my analyses and realized that here was the lifetime opportunity that I much sought. That how my dreams became valid as I went up to start a fitness center which would first see my students starts with dancing lessons; which would eventually lead to some more exercises after they became accustomed to the routine. Eventually, I was able to assist and make an impact in the society.
A Fantastic Project Which Transformed my Son
My name is Chris Evans. I’m a husband and a dad of two lovely kids. Sometimes in 2012, my wife came up with a crazy idea; which she tried in vain to make sense to me for about a week before I eventually gave in and decided to give it a chance. Although I did that after some consultations with friends and co-workers, a fact I still find hard to let my wife learn about.
You may be wondering which was this crazy idea; which made me to discreetly look for suggestions outside the borders of our marriage. Okey, here is the thing, she wanted to have a second-born son who was about 11 then and in his 6th year in school transferred to another school in the neighborhood; which was offering dancing sessions focused on addressing the physiological fitness components of flexibility, aerobic endurance and muscular explosive power.
Positive Effects of Creative Dancing Sessions in School Children
As bizarre as it all sounded, yeah, my kid is not a guinea pig to be used a specimen in studies. But I decided to have him transferred to Holy Rood school so as to take part in the dancing sessions. I didn’t know how he would fair. Although, I hoped for the best. Moreover, I got a reprieve because the training was to be undertaken by professional dance artist whom I could trust given their credibility.
Therefore, for the next several weeks I had my son bringing me his notebook which had records of his dancing experience in correlation with his school work as well as his behavioral patterns. Each day, I realized something positive about him from the documented experiences; he was growing more social, happier and in good moods. His school work was to progressing well and this made me feel motivated and that the decision wasn’t in vain overall. I also need to stress out that his health and lifestyle seemed great. He was feeding well and was always full of energy unlike his older brother.
Making an Impact towards Life
Even as the dancing program was nearing completion, I had all to marvel about my son. He had grown to be more responsible and creative and I was happy when he started telling me about his ambitions. Whenever we talked or went out for a picnic or a walk, he seemed more mature and bright. I attributed all this to the dancing sessions that he attended because they must have helped him realist himself better and his role in the world. Thus I knew that it was time for me to help him develop a road map and proper mindset to guide him towards achieving his dreams.
Today, I’m proud of him in the manner in which he carries himself in his projects and towards achieving a better future. I do all I can to assist him where necessary. I also ensure that his brother shares his values hence they are all doing great and I foresee a big future in their energies.
Dance For Life
I love dancing and I always looked forward for any dancing opportunity; which would give me a chance to perform and prove my worth. Every dancer who has spent several years practicing dancing would never second-guess if such an opportunity to prove one’s worth cropped up. But the best shot for any dancer would be to get a chance to perform why at the same time make a difference.
Therefore when that exciting chance came by in spring of 2011, my dance crew and I were never left behind in joining the thousands of others young performers across England in participating in the Dance for Life project which was organized by Red cross as a funds drive.
Preparing for the Dance Event
Our preparations for the events started the very day that we learnt about the events and got more intense when we submitted our application to participate and it got approved. We wanted to give all our best. However, as you may deduce, this wasn’t just any dancing competition; but a drive to raise funds. Therefore in our preparation program, our chaperon ensured that there was a plan to get several sponsors on board so that we could also add some value to the whole event which was also supported by Britain’s Got talent winners Diversity.
That apart, we were also looking forward for other opportunities in future; which could also come as a result of our performances.
Our preparations
They were thus thorough; from the choreography; which we had the best dancing teachers and chaperons to the creation and restocking of all dancing kit; which was requisite for the competition. Each dancing member was given a role in the preparations to counter-check that all went as intended. I was one of those who was assisting in the costumes and make-up styles and ensured that all went well as planned. There were those who were tasked with ensuring that the paperwork was as required; others to check on the transportation and hospitality; and others into the music copies et al.
All in all, we ensured that we had the ample time to finalize on everything two weeks prior to the event and thus we were certain of giving an earth-breaking performance. Our last preparations were made on the eve of the event; where the last minute advice was given by our teachers and with that said, we were goods to go.
Our Dance Theme Aimed towards Better Reproductive Health
At the Gloucester Guildhall is where our dancing skills were unveiled to the applause of the audience. We performed what was nothing short of a masterpiece; with our dancing theme being to better the reproductive health of the nation and the globe as a whole. Almost all our songs shared that theme. Along with our choreography went in hand with the theme to send a message across the audience. While on the stage, I could feel how well the message was received by the guest and the judges.
After our performance, we were also thrilled by performances from other dancing groups and they were all awesome. By the end of the day, we were named best for the choreography and our theme. Received as we were awarded an opportunity to be part of the teams to participate in the dancing competition; at the IndigO2 venue at the O2 in London later that year. What a beautiful and fulfilling day it was.
