Engaging through Wedding Pictures
There is an old adage; which claims that a picture is worth more than 300 words. I believe that this is true. The reason is because the works of photography have been used to capture beautiful places. It usually speak our emotions whenever we see them. Photography helps us document the different stages; places and emotions. Actually it is part of our culture and through pictures we are able to keep memories of events; as well as places that eventually forms part of our legacy.
Moreover, pictures enable us to communicate and share the beautiful things with others; so that they too can appreciate and embrace the beauty of this world. In modern times you will realize that through social media platforms, people share a considerable amount of pictures each day with friends. This is because of the beauty; which can be inspiring to others. Photography thus helps us to communicate with other without having to utter a word yet at the end; we all feel like it was the best conversation that we ever had.
Wedding Photography evolves with thousands of images being taken and shared daily
We all feel the influence that photography impacts in our lives. The craving for more amazing and stunning images is also insatiable. The reason is because we are all competing to take and share the best images as well as document them for future records; something that I intend to do here on this site in future.
However, I may not have a big portfolio of my photography work. But as I work on repurposing this site, I do intend to not only publish interesting articles concerning photography that I come across or share about my photography endeavors. But will also be updating the site with some beautiful pictures that I have been taking for the past few years.
Previously this website was owned by Lesley Bee who specialized in wedding and portrait photography. She had a studio located in Hinckley, Leicestershire on the borders of Warwickshire. Nonetheless, I will be continuing from where she left and currently; However, I have several posts that I have already published. Click through the topics below to access the articles.

Wedding Photography is all About Fun
I have loved playing with the camera and taking shots for the better part of my life. However, I have never considered this can be a source of livelihood and I just do it for fun. I’m a believer that when the weather is just fine and amazing, then it requires a nice photo to capture the beautiful weather.
Be that as it may, I usually consider myself paparazzi. Also, I sometimes take pictures for fun; especially when I take picture of my friends who are not aware that I’m taking them and thus catching them absent-minded. Such pictures can be a source of fun and laughter if you try to analyze and caption what one could have been doing or thinking about when the picture was taken. It is a kind of a prank.
It Is Important to Capture the Best Moments in Life
Last summer, I attended a local football event; which had tournaments taking place at our local stadium. Armed with me was my digital camera fully charged and ready to for ‘work’. It was> a beautiful Saturday morning and the weather was so fine that I felt the pleasure of taking picture of anything that fascinated me.
Throughout the numerous matches that were played that day, I ensured that short as many photos as possible. By noon, the camera’s battery had almost depleted the charge, so when I went home for lunch, I ensured that I recharged it as well as transferred the photos I had taken to my computer; so that the memory stick could have more space for the afternoon shoot-outs.
In the afternoon, I was back at the stadium
Since I hadn’t fully recharged the battery, I became more meticulous in the pictures that I took because I knew that I had to spare the charge for the final games and the conclusions of the memory.
While cheering for my home team, a cute girl approached me. With a smile on her face she greeted me. After the pleasantries, she told me that her sister was among the cheerleaders dancing nearby and she would love to take picture of her. Unfortunately, her camera’s battery was low and she wanted to borrow mine for the purpose. Her beauty was irresistible and I never even took time to think about the situation.
Through beautiful Wedding Pictures I Met My Lifetime Companion
I accompanied her and together we went to take pictures of the cheering girls. After that we hang the whole afternoon together until the match was over. Since I had promised to have the transfer the pictures to her, we headed home; so that I could have them downloaded to my computer for the transfer.
Back at home she was mesmerized by the amazing pictures that I had and she couldn’t believe that I wasn’t a professional photographer. But what amazed her more were the album designs and portraits that I had for those pictures that I felt were unique. These were had designed albums and portraits hence their uniqueness was something to marvel at.
I decided to gift her on unique Wedding album
That must have warmed her heart. I could see it all in the way she appreciated the gift. The following day around lunchtime, she made an impromptu stopover at my place as she was going to the market to pick some groceries. With her was the local daily and on the featured sports was a picture of the cheerleaders. I didn’t notice anything unique about it until she told me that it was among the ones that I had taken a sister.
She explained to me that her uncle worked as an editor at the newspaper printing office as she had requested him to use one of the pictures for the tournaments’ story and voila, he did it. That marked our friendship and consequently courtship as we look to forward to get married in the future.
Why you need to Invest on a Professional Wedding Photographer
This is a story about a bride who took a shortcut down the road as she sought for photographer of her wedding day and is till now lamenting and regretting of the decision that she made. She approached me because she wanted to find out if I could add any special effects on the picture to make them look a bit more lively and sexy. It true that there is something; which can be done to retouch the pictures. But again the costs involved and the time is something that this bride could have avoided with no hassle.
And, again, you can never lie to yourself, the very moment that you realized that the pictures were of bad quality; nothing that which is done ill ever make you feel otherwise even after 30 years of marriage. You will ever recall the mistake that you did and will have to live with. I’m not lashing at anyone here. But giving my professional advice about the quality of pictures that are needed for such occasions; which come by rarely. You want nothing short of the best, therefore be ready to fund the services appropriately.
Never Let Money Compromise the Quality of your Wedding Photography
You will ever get what you pay. Whenever I meet with couples to discuss about their photography requirements, I usually emphasize on quality. The benefit of seeking consultations from a professional photographer is very important for couples who’ve never booked a photographer before and are thus clueless about what they are into and the quality; which maybe highly compromised.
Such couple ends up being disappointed by the pictures that they have to live with. It may not be there fault entirely because they may have gone for budget and hence decided on the cheapest rates. At times there are those who let their family or friends to do the photography just because they possess a camera.
What many fail to realize…
Is that a wedding is a special day that isn’t coming around sooner. Actually is gone and dead. You want picture; which tell the story of the day without much hassle. You want something professional; pictures that you are going to treasure for the years to come.
There are that couples who really entirely on the internet and from friends to get the idea of what they plan to do. There is nothing wrong with that. Actually those are the cheapest way fastest way of obtaining valuable information for free. The problem is that you may end up with half-baked ideas; which in the long may be detrimental to your event. Even if your are constrained by finances, it is best to seek advice from someone who has a bit of experience. But I don’t see the need of organizing a wedding ceremony if you don’t have money.
Always Work with Someone that you Feel Comfortable With
It is also worthwhile to choose a photographer who you get along with well. A couple of meeting before the wedding day is enough to get to know each other well and deduce that you are seeking the services of someone who knows what they are doing and is ready and more willing to make your day beautiful..
Ensure that you go through all the packages and details of the whole issue together and you agree to everything. If there is ever need to clarification or suggestion never fail to raise your concern. Just remember that it is your big day and the documentation to show about all that will be recorded by the pictures.
Tips for Wedding Photography
A happy wedding is like a feel good pill. It accessorizes a marriage union and seals the commitment of a couple to be together during the better or worse time that they may through in their lives. That may be the reason why so many people invest a lot in their wedding. They are just out there to please the guest. But they want something grand and memorable to add a mark in their lives.
I’ve been a wedding photographer for a long time
During my years of being a wedding photographer, I have been involved on photo shooting for a lot of couples. I usually ensure that my and my crew gives the best we can for our clients because 5, 10 or more years down the line, they will look at the pictures and the nostalgia of the day need to make them strong. But not sick.
Therefore, being a guy who is more creative and have tons of ideas; I usually enlist it as my duty to give suggestions to the couple on how to pose.. Especially after the ceremony and during the photo shootouts. Many times, I may request to visit a wedding location prior to their wedding day; so that I can have a look at the best backdrops and make a suggestion or two of what need to be improved to make the pictures taken look more attractive. However, I may also have to talk with my clients and learn what poses are comfortable with them; and those which are not; so that I may not embarrass them during the public event.
The Makeup that Graces Photography
Recently, I covered a wedding event in a nearby town. The wedding of Jones and Ashley was a beautiful one; which was graced with beautiful bridesmaids, flowers and sumptuous cakes and drinks. Everything about the wedding was so attractive. All the guests enjoyed every moment.
However, being a photographer, who had been called to cover the event on short notice- actually on the eve of the wedding- I realized that the much needed preparations may have not been effected after all. I want to mean that for a magnitude and budget that the wedding ceremony ran, there was much; which should have been done to grace the occasion.
There are clever ways that any photographer would recommend to be done during such occasions to make the pictures taken look more beautiful and sexier. Remember that all the cakes and flowers in the event will be no more after the event and the pictures will be available for ages. You don’t want to look at your wedding picture to realize that you should have made this change or the other.
On the other hand, you need to plan well. Most of professional photographer may help you plan and it is best for you to work with them; as well as heed advice or ask for suggestions where necessary. Some of the things that need attention include.
The Theme of the Wedding
Your pictures will look quite appealing if there is an attractive theme in the wedding; which is even all through. This is common in most all wedding because the bridesmaids and best men will have uniformed attire or the cake will match the décor used. But photographers have another understanding about all that. When we talk about a theme, we are talking about all the concepts; which will make the photos appealing. Pictures tell stories and you want every picture to count. The concept for photographers could mean taking panoramic pictures, infrared, expressive continuous etc.
It is also critical for the theme that the couple chooses to match every concept of the wedding from start to finish. That is from the church where vows are taken to the wedding reception and also at the after party.
Make the Photo Shooting Experience ‘Welcome’
While Covering Jones and Ashley’s wedding I realized that Ashley was the shy-type. Though she was quiet adorable, she was shy posing for a picture unlike her groom or the bridesmaids who were all outgoing. Having covered nervous couples in the past I knew that I was tasked with encouraging her and at times directing her on what to do. Thanks God she was very co-operative. I knew that it was her wedding and I knew really wanted her to see stunning pictures and appreciate my efforts against the payments that they were parting with for my services.
It is crucial for photographers to encourage their clients from time to time to make their work look more appealing and natural; which in turn brings positive recommendations to their portfolio.
Retouch the Pictures
As much as this may be criticized by many people; retouching photos add new warmth of the pictures taken. It may not be a simple task and may take a couple of hours. But this should be in your budget too. It’s good for you to talk to your clients about it by showing examples; so that you can emphasize on the budget.
There are several tools that can help you retouch photos; such as using Photoshop. By so doing, you will be removing anything negative aspect captured; as well as increasing the attractiveness of the pictures. All in all you need to keep the originality of the pictures.
My Humble Beginning Working with cameras
My dad used to have a photo studio; which he ran for the better part of his life. It was there before I was born and throughout my childhood until be sold it; while I was in college; so that he could expand his other business ventures. It is there where I became acquainted in the world of photography. Being a ‘dad’s girl’ as many claimed I was, I used to hang out with my dad at the studio over the weekends. As much as it was fun taking photos and watching him or his staff processing them, step-by-step I was learning.
By the time I was 11; I could take beautiful photos at the studio and I knew that I loved every bit of it. I was there to assist my dad in the studio work and he much appreciated it. To show the appreciation, he gifted me with my first personal camera on my 13th birthday.
That meant that I could take my camera anywhere with me; and I was at liberty of taking photos at will not like before when all the cameras were confined to the studio and only during special occasions like picnics or family gathering when I had the opportunity to take pictures outside the studio.
Pursuing My Dreams beyond the Confines of a Studio
All in all, this freedom of having my own camera shaped my dreams. Nevertheless, I realized that it was more creative; going from place to place and capturing all the beautiful sceneries that I came across as well as the amazing moments of my lives that I felt touched me. With the creativity that I found in the passion to take pictures, so was born an inspiration; as opposed to the boredom of the studios.
Nonetheless, I agree that outdoor photography can be rather informal. But if you look at the bigger picture you will realize that the immense potential and opportunities that presents itself in the outdoors; amid the fresh air, as you capture the stunning beauty of nature and places.
Often, I would often capture almost everything that amazed me using interesting features as the backdrop of the images and most of it all was so amazing and inspiring every time that I went to add new pictures to my numerous photo albums.
Whenever we had visitors, I would very much oblige to let them have a look at the albums and most of the times they were awed by the clarity and creativity of the pictures. Their complements always strengthened my inspiration and made me yearn for more.
Making a Living in the Field Made me Realize the Potential Involved in it
By the time when I was 16; I had been invited multiple times by our family friends to take photos during their special events. There are times when I was allowed to take pictures during school co-curricular activities. The best moment was when I had several pictures used in our school magazine. More importantly, I had one of the photos on the cover page of the school magazine.
That’s was the amateurish start in the world of photography that eventually so me become a professional wildlife photographer. Though I hand an upper hand in this field due to my proper induction in it at a tender age, I needed more polishing on the fine details if I were to sharpen my skills. Therefore when I joined college, I chose to pursue a diploma in Interior Design; so that I could get a more understanding of the best shots that are involved in decoration. I could have loved studying journalism instead. But I wanted to be a freelance photographer.
The more knowledge I got the better I became
However, deep inside me I knew that this was an ambition that I needed pursuing. The dreams were realized after graduating from college. By then I had a gigantic collection of my work. Going through them; I realized that the best collection that I had involved wildlife photography.
Two years down the line, I concentrated in the field, working with various organizations; as well as wildlife trust to make a living. Today, I’m still a wildlife photographer and have had an opportunity to travel to various countries to take pictures. Most of my trips are funded by my clients and it all adventurous and inspiring; whenever I visit any country or place as part of my career.
